After spending 15 years helping people get involved in politics through technology, Tom wanted to do something more about climate change. He had a vision to make renewable energy accessible for all, and founded Ethical Electric to do just that. When he’s not in the office, you might find Tom out on the Chesapeake Bay with his family.
With a background in accounting and consulting, John believes people should have a say in where their energy comes from. He’s committed to improving the earth for his nine children and four grandchildren so they can enjoy a cleaner environment. When he’s not working to deliver clean energy options, you’ll catch him playing golf or hockey, cheering on his Boston sports teams, or traveling anywhere off the beaten path.
Realizing how much we take for granted our natural resources, Mary Beth has a passion to help create a sustainable power infrastructure that allows consumers access to buy clean energy and have a positive impact on our environment. With over 20 years in corporate and investment banking, Mary Beth previously worked with independent power producers and regulated utilities. She also enjoys snow skiing and running. With three children, there is no lack of adventure.
With a background in retail energy with a focus on operations and government affairs, Chris was immersed in the climate change conversation. He also recognized that the only growth in energy is in clean energy, and with a 9 month old daughter, he has the best reason in the world to work towards a cleaner planet for all of us. And if there’s anybody on our team who understands the world, it’s Chris, who took 15 months off to travel the globe in 1999.
Coming from the world of Marketing and Advertising, Tom is glad to put his experience to work for good. He enjoys working for a mission-driven organization that will benefit him and everybody else. On the weekend you might find him hiking the local trails, or reminiscing about that time he ate delicious barbecued tarantula in his travels.
As an environmental advocate and journalist, Richard witnessed the negative effects of pollution and thought there had to be a way to power our homes without causing asthma and cancer. So, he teamed up with Tom Matzzie and Ethical Electric was born. His next project is figuring out how to cost-effectively colonize venus, but first, clean energy on earth.
Working at Ethical Electric is the perfect intersection of Daniel’s skill set and a cause he cares very strongly about. With a background in political campaigns and economic development, he brings a unique perspective to help fix the air pollution problem. On the weekends you’ll find him cheering for his under-performing hometown sports teams.
Peter wants our children to grow up in a positive environment with clean air for all. He joined Ethical Electric to put his experience in energy investment and project finance towards our share mission. When he’s not trying to find the next business opportunity, he’s kayaking on the Potomac or skiing with his kids.
Worried about what kind of world he will be leaving his children, Jared is glad to be able to apply his digital marketing skills to do good at Ethical Electric. As an avid trail runner and canoer, he is deeply committed to keeping clean and unpolluted spaces in our world, for himself, his children, and all of us.
We only have one environment, and Tory wants to make sure it’s protected for future generations. So, she brings her Accounting expertise to the team to help us work towards our mission. Outside the office, she enjoys traveling and experiencing different cultures, and has the goal of attending all four grand slam tennis events.
Coming from a retail energy background, the prevailing wisdom that price was the most important factor in a customer’s decision. But Paul recognized that when it comes to energy, you pay a much higher price in the long term when energy production harms the environment. He came to Ethical Electric to help shift the paradigm. Paul keeps busy with his family doing anything from camping to scouting, to sports, movies, and community activities.
